It’s a week full of fun news, folks! Horror lovers are in for a treat, as HBO has announced that it will be adapting Grady Hendrix’s wildly popular The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires into a series for the network.
The project had originally been in development at Amazon and has now moved over to the Warner Bros. Discovery premium network. Hendrix himself will executive produce and write, alongside the duo Danny McBride and Edi Patterson of Righteous Gemstones fame.

No news has been released yet regarding details or an ETA, but Grady Hendrix fans will likely be chomping at the bit for any news with regards to casting and release date.
The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires quickly became a favourite of horror literature lovers with Hendrix’s signature blend of horror and dark humor, and his exploration of bored housewives. This reader for one was completely enchanted by it from start to finish.
While we wait with baited breath about news regarding the series, we can take comfort in the fact that Grady Hendrix’s next novel, Witchcraft for Wayward Witches comes to bookstores everywhere January 14th 2025. Sounds magical.

Published in 2021, The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires follows a group of Southern women in the early 1990s who find themselves the only line of defense against a dangerous stranger who moves into their neighborhood.
