We all know the feeling – excitement and trepidation when we hear our favorite book is being adapted for the big screen. Sometimes it’s magic, and sometimes… well, not so much. As we reflect on the literary adaptations of 2024, which ones did not hit the mark?
What do you think was the most disappointing book-to-movie adaptation of 2024?
I would safely say that the Argylle book by Elly Conway which was turned into a movie right after the book was released, was pretty bad. It was fun sure, but strictly as an adaptation of the book, not great.
Anyways, I’m curious to hear about the films that left you feeling let down. Maybe it strayed too far from the source material, failed to capture the essence of the characters, or simply couldn’t translate the book’s magic to the screen. Perhaps the performances didn’t live up to your imagination, or key plot points were altered beyond recognition.
