As you might be aware, the book adaptation of the young adult dystopian fiction Uglies by Scott Westerfeld was released as a movie on Netflix just a few weeks ago. It is a great book that talks a lot about body image, beauty standards, and much more.
In book form it works, however, in movie format, it does not seem to work at all.
I am saying this only because the movie was so bad… It is currently standing at a 4.8/10 on IMDB, 17% RT score and 34% Metacritic… Also a lot of people who have seen it just did not like it, for many reasons.
Despite its failure, the movie ended on a cliffhanger. Given how bad the movie did and if you liked it or not, do you want there to be a part 2 of Uglies movie? Do you want to find out what actually happens to Tally?
