Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit the magical world of children’s literature. We all have that one book from our younger years that left an indelible mark on our hearts and minds. You know, the one that sparked your imagination, taught you an important life lesson or simply brought you comfort time and time again.
What’s the most memorable book from your childhood, and why did it have such a profound impact on you?
Maybe it was a whimsical picture book with illustrations that still dance in your mind. Or perhaps it was that chapter book that first made you fall in love with reading.
I think for me it was The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke. It was a novel written in Germany first, but I am very happy that it made its way to North America where I was able to enjoy it as a kid. I clearly remember reading it and getting sucked into the story of this noble thief, who was just as a kid as I was while reading it. It made a mark on me and probably started my love for reading books.
