It’s October! The coolest, spookiest, most pumpkin filled time of the year! That means that it’s time for horror to take center stage. This month we’re delving into the thrills and chills that make this genre what it is. Horror can sometimes be dismissed as one sided, but this October we’re talking about all of the facets of this spooktacular genre, terrifying or otherwise.
It’s time to take a look at a true classic of the genre; a horror film that actually received recognition by critics and the public alike: 1973’s The Exorcist. The film that solidified the demonic possession film as one of the scarier subgenres out there. Every film of its type since then has tried to recreate the spine chilling atmosphere, to varying degrees of success.
