Veil By Jonathan Janz Is Terrifying Because It Feels So Real

IT welcome to derry reactions and expectations

Welcome to Derry: Can HBO’s IT Prequel Avoid Feeling Like a Reboot?

May 30, 2025

It’s October! The coolest, spookiest, most pumpkin filled time of the year! That means that it’s time for horror to take center stage. This month we’re delving into the thrills and chills that make this genre what it is. Horror can sometimes be dismissed as one sided, but this October we’re talking about all of the facets of this spooktacular genre, terrifying or otherwise.

The one thing we can all agree on is that the month of October is perfect for scares. But what is it about this spine chilling time of the year that tickles our fancy? Why do we like to be scared? And what is the difference between watching and reading horror, and its effect on our emotions? This week, we’re discussing horror and its spooky effect on us in all forms. Come along for the ride, and beware, you’re in for a scare….

Enjoying Horror month? Be sure to check out all of our coverage of the genre over at https://fully-booked.ca/. We’re a listener supported podcast! Please consider pledging and helping Fully Booked to grow our library over at https://ko-fi.com/fullybooked, or by leaving us a 5 star rating and review wherever you’re listening. Thanks bookworms, and don’t forget to keep on reading.
