Silo season 2 talks have been heating up in the last few weeks! We got an interview teaser from Graham Yost, showrunner of the Silo TV series on Apple TV+, just last week where he teased everyone with the plot details of the first few episodes of Silo season 2.

Another big announcement was made that there would be a panel at SDCC 2024 with the Silo cast. During this panel, we got the most major news of the year regarding the release date and we could not be more excited!

During the Silo panel at SDCC and on the official Apple TV+ Twitter account, it was confirmed that Silo season 2 will be released on November 15th, 2024!

This is something that the author of the science fiction books, Hugh Howey, speculated on his Threads account only a few months ago. A fan asked him if it would be in 2025 and he mentioned that we might not need to wait that long.

Silo season 2 finished filming in March of 2024 and it only took 8 months to get the show through production and into the release of eagerly awaiting fans. Additionally, it has been confirmed that seasons 3 and 4 will be filmed back to back. When those are finished, we can only hope that it will take about 8 months in order to get a release date as well.

Graham Yost confirmed in an interview with EW the details of the first few episodes of Silo season 2. We know that the whole season 2 will be scarier and will follow two storylines.

Spoilers Ahead

It will start with Juliette surviving the outside after being sent to clean at the end of Silo season 1.

She ventures out and goes over the hill, and survives much longer than anyone else has thanks to better tape that has been sent from mechanical to help her. All of the other cleaners have been sent to clean with poor tape that starts to disintegrate soon after they finish the cleaning and the outside air kills them. We also get a confirmation that the outside air is indeed deadly.

Juliette finds a neighboring silo, called Silo 17. She manages to bypass security protocols and ends up inside, safe.

Once in the new silo, she finds that is it halfway flooded. She needs to survive in her new temporary home because her main mission is to get back to her original silo, Silo 18.

During her exploration and survival, she discovers that she is not alone…

Parallel to that, we will also get a glimpse at what is happening in her original silo, Silo 18. We will learn that there is unrest and a mounting possibility of a rebellion. Everyone at the silo saw Juliette survive and walk past the hill, therefore everyone believes that it is possible to survive outside and the idea of the outside and of those who run the silo starts to change. A rebellion is coming…

Juliette finds a survivor in Silo 17. He is the actor Steve Zahn, who was announced at the panel as a new character who joins the cast of Silo season 2.

Steve Zahn’s character is referred to as “a middle-aged 10-year-old”. He does not really remember his name or what happened to him, but Juliette calls him Solo.

Solo and Juliette will explore the rest of Silo 17 and try to find a way to get back to her home silo throughout Silo Season 2.
