Silo Season 2 Will Be Scarier
We know that Juliette is not dead at the end of Silo season 1. If you’ve read the books and seen the first season, you know that the showrunners as well as the author, Hugh Howey, are sticking very close to the original story for this science fiction, book-to-TV adaptation.
However, we also know that Juliette is in trouble and that the air in her suit, and the suit itself for that matter, is degrading.

The wondrous tape that Walker [Harriet Walter] arranged for her to have her suit wrapped in, that’s going to fail. A lot of the episode is about Juliette just trying to survive and the engineering stuff she has to do to try to stay alive.
On top of that, we are going to get a bit of a backstory to the silo she ends up in, called Silo 17. Graham mentioned in the interview that “The premiere [follows] Juliette, but we actually don’t start with her… We’re going to start back an undetermined — at least at first — amount of time ago, in another silo. We’re going to see a rebellion going very wrong.” Graham revealed.
This is a very interesting piece of information that will come in handy in understanding the story of the current silo Juliette is in, as well as a possible future of her home silo if a rebellion goes wrong? Graham additionally mentioned that we will also get a big flashback, of an undetermined amount of years ago, to when the rebellion of Silo 17 started.
We follow a leader who is inciting a rebellion and wants to lead his followers outside, as they do not believe that the outside is dangerous.
They run up and we cut from them just as they’re going outside to seeing that same flag sticking up out of the ground, out of the hand of a skeleton, and it’s God knows how many years later. In the distance is this person in a cleaning suit walking toward it, and it’s Juliette, who will follow the trail of bodies that will lead her into a dead silo.
What a grizzly scene to walk into, not just for Juliette herself but for the audience as well, right at the start of Silo season 2!
We then jump back to Juliette in her present time and the challenges she faces; from the seemingly dead silo to her own survival and trying to get back home, to Silo 18.
Silo Season 2 Follows Two Storylines At The Same Time
A very interesting piece of information we’ve learned from the interview with Graham Yost about Silo season 2, is that the second season will have two storylines at the same time.
One of the storylines follows Juliette and her survival in Silo 17, while the other story follows the people and characters in her home silo, number 18.
The second storyline will be very interesting to see develop as it follows the rest of the cast back in Silo 18. The departure of Juliette from the silo and early calls for a rebellion since we saw that Juliette went outside and over the hill. The dwellers of silo 18 from Season 1 might be thinking that it is actually safe to go outside. However, Graham notes that “And yet what we saw over in the other silo is what can happen if the rebellion goes wrong and all the people died, so that’s the basic tension of the season.“

Depending on the length of Silo season 2, we will continue to explore Silo 17, where Juliette ends up after going and surviving outside. If you’ve read the books [spoilers], you also know that she will find survivors in Silo 17 who will help her throughout her journey.
Additionally, we know that she will try and get back to her home silo from season 1. The way that they will bridge this gap between silos and the implications of her departure and return, along with survivors on top of that, promises an, even more, twisted and gripping season 3.
Silo season 2 is set to be released later this year, according to Hugh Howey’s mention on Threads, on Apple TV+.
